After you have edited your basic shapes, you can then make further modifications, as mentioned, if any of the shapes are in the wrong order above or below an overlapping shape. You can use the Object ➤ Arrange options of

•\    Bring to Front: Brings the selected shape to the front of the layer.

•\    Bring Forward: Moves the selected shape one sublayer forward.

•\    Send Backward: Sends the selected shape one sublayer backward.

•\    Send to Back: Sends the selected shape to the very back of the layer.

Refer to Figure 6-42.

Using the key commands such as Ctrl/CMD +] or Ctrl/CMD+[ multiple times, when a shape is selected, can assist you in moving the selected shape to the exact location in the sublayer order.

Note  This will only work on the current layer and its sublayers. I will explain how to move the shape to another layer in Chapter 8. See the section “Working with Layers.” However, the Object ➤ Arrange ➤ Send to Current Layer option will work if you need to move a shape to another layer selected in your Layers panel.

To create an exact copy of a shape on or below another, you can also use Edit ➤ Copy and then Edit ➤ Paste in Front (Ctrl/CMD+F) or Paste in Back (Ctrl/CMD+B).
